Hey Everybody!

I'm so happy to be member of this kal, I received my book yesterday! As a matter of fact, I heard the mailman, went to the door and found this on the doorstep (lol, in a package, of course!)! My husband had surprised me by ordering it after he saw me looking through it in a yarn shop when we were out of town a couple of weeks ago! He's sweet like that!
Oh my, I was looking through the book at the dr.'s office today and I can't decide where to begin! Everything is so lovely!
I am LOVING all of your projects, too!
Happy Lace Knitting Everyone!

LOL, you know....I think I may do the wimple first...but I have been known to change my mind, LOL!

Whoo-hoo!!!

I'm so happy to be a part of this blog! I got the book yesterday and I'm taking it with me to the Dodger game tonight to decide on a project; they are all SO exquisite, every one of them is unique challenge that will enhance/impact any wardrobe. I really like the Katherine Hepburn Cardigan (both lengths), Tailored Scallops and the Ooh La Lace Dress; maybe the Great Garbo Garden Hat for my mother (talk about dramatic effect)!

Decisions, decisions...

Tailored Scallops

I set myself weekly knitting goals so that I can manage my ongoing knitting projects. One of my usual goals is to "Knit a swatch from a yarn you love" which usually satisfies my need to start new projects.

However, the swatch I knit last week has mysteriously grown into a sleeve for Tailored Scallops....

I'm using Elann's Uros Aran yarn in Oxblood, a lovely dark wine color. It's 50/50 wool and llama so it should be very warm despite the lacy feather and fan pattern!

...And they're off!

Greetings all you loverly knitters out there. I got my book about a week ago, bought yarn for my first project approximately eight seconds later, and am now working on the Featherweight Lingerie Dress by Mari Lynn Patrick. Believe it or not it's a pretty quick knit; I'm already half-way done the skirt portion, which is the biggest part. I'm using Rowan Kid Silk Haze in Cream, which is a little finicky, but gorgeous.

Pictures coming soon (whenever I can wrench the digital camera away from dear boyfriend, that is).

So Excited!

Can't wait to get started!  So excited to join.  I just got my book and I am trying to decide on my project, there are so many great ones it's hard to choose.

Lace Anklet Progress

I have just completed my heel flap and I am about to start the short row shaping.

Shetland Shawl turned Vest!

I know there's not much to see yet. I just cast on for the Shetland Shawl turned Vest. I'm so excited, because I already know that the next project will be the K.H. cardigan in the Cherry red, like in the book. Both projects will be for my daughter. I used addi's lace circs to cast on and knit the first row. They are wonderful. A must have! Unfortunately for me, I have to change to a larger size now, and I don't have addi lace circs in that size, what a bummer. Got to go now and knit! Later.

Excited!

Perfect timing! I received my invitation to join the KAL today, and when I got home from work, my copy of Lace Style from Amazon was sitting at my front door. Now, what to knit first. Maybe the Essential Tank Top or the Retro Redux Shrug. I need to check my stash!

So excited!!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to have a KAL for this book! I bought this a few weeks ago and can't wait to get started! My first project will be the Essential Tank Top! My friend picked this out for me! She thinks it will look great on me! Now, I have to figure out which yarn to use! I'm going to see if I have some from my stash that will work first.

Can't wait to see everyone's finished projects.

Thanks for the invite!

It has been a while, since I joined a KAL, but I could not resist this one. As soon as I finish up my latest project, I'll dive right into this wonderful book. We'll see what I'll knit first, can't decide yet. ;o)
Nice to be here,
Monika

Just got my book YEAH

I just got my book (well for this and the Socks as well) and I am in love. I love a lot of the patterns but I am completely in love with the Katharine Hepburn Cardigan bu Kathy Zimmerman. As I am trying to destash right now I am going to make this out of Cascade 220 that is in stash, which I know is thicker than what is called for but I am a little larger than the pattern so I think it shall work. I will be swatching tonight. Wish me luck

Floral Lace Anklets

I am half way through the first of my Floral Lace Anklets page 27 in Regia Silk Mocca. What a fun pattern. The repeats are easy to remember and the pattern develops subtly. I am a little disappointed in the yarn however, the cuff is getting fuzzy. I am not sure why.

Waiting for the book!

I'm excited to have this book and am waiting for Amazon to surprise me with its arrival! Although they list it as "in stock" (finally), my shipping record says it's not shipping out until the first week of April! And yet...and yet...I saw a copy sitting on the shelves of Barnes & Noble the other day! So, we'll see...maybe it will show up one day soon, as a surprise! Can't wait to dive into some of those projects!

Green Sweater

Has anyone made the sweater from the front of the book yet? I would like to but haven't decided on the yarn yet.

Oh La Lace! Join the new KAL!

At Interweave Press we've loved watching knitters from across the globe participate in the very successful Scarf Style and Wrap Style knitalongs. Lace Style is the next book in that same series, with 21 stunning projects illustrating the diverse and nontraditional ways to use lace. The patterns are by some of the country's most talented and inventive knitwear designers, including Veronik Avery, Norah Gaughan, Annie Modesitt, Nancy Bush, Shirley Paden, Mari Lynn Patrick and more.

Members of this KAL are encouraged to share their own creative versions of the patterns as well as their tips and suggestions for materials. We hope these patterns will give you new ways to think about knitting lace.

If you're interested in joining, please send an email to knitalongs AT interweave DOT com and we'll send you a link with instructions on how to start posting to the site. Please include "Lace Style KAL" in the subject line of your email. Let's knit some lace... What better way to have some fun this spring and summer knitting season?

Also stay tuned: Bag Style and Folk Style KALs are coming this fall!
